Education

As the founder of Wisconsin’s charter school movement, I value public educational opportunities for every child. Charter schools provide more choices for families and empower innovative educators from across our state to find new ways to reach all children, uplifting their hopes and dreams.

Education has been the cornerstone of my life in public service, from First President of the Wisconsin Charter Schools Association, to High School teacher, to State Representative. As a young girl, my father and mother instilled in me the value of education as the foundation for success in life. I believe it is our responsibility as a nation to empower families with the tools they need to ensure their children’s livelihoods.

Freedom and Democracy depend on a well educated population. Our business and economic vitality hinges on a well-educated and highly- skilled workforce. To that end, I strongly support public school choice, charter schools, the Wisconsin Technical Colleges, and a thriving University system.
