Years before the attack on the Twin Towers in New York City the
United States Administration stood by and did nothing when its
embassies over seas, barracks in Beirut, and naval ships were attacked
by terrorists. Al Qaida training networks are a reality not only in
Europe and the Middle East, but also in the United States.
The stabilization of the Middle Eastern region is a vital national security interest to the United States.
As
the sister and daughter of American veterans, the war on terror for my
family began when terrorists attacked the marine barracks in Beirut. No
one hates war more than the soldier and the soldier's family.
Our
troops are doing a tremendous job securing Iraq and creating a safer
world. The men and women in our nations uniform are re-enlisting in
record numbers. They would not be doing that if they didn’t believe
that America was securing our borders at home by fighting the
terrorists on their soil. |
